About Dataminr

Dave DeWalt is the chair of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and the founder and CEO of NightDragon. A veteran CEO and one of the preeminent leaders in cybersecurity and technology, Dave has led some of the world’s most influential companies toward immense success over the past 30 years—creating more than $20B in shareholder value. 

Dave serves as managing director of Allegis Cyber and as an investor and board member at innovative companies such as Delta Airlines, Five9, Forescout and Optiv. He was also a member of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee for four U.S. administrations.

Brad Arkin oversees Salesforce’s security strategy, building trust with stakeholders, and protecting customer data in an AI-first world. Previously, Brad was Chief Security and Trust Officer at Cisco and served as the security chief at Adobe for 12 years. He holds a B.S. in computer science and mathematics from the College of William and Mary, M.S. in computer science from GWU, and an MBA from Columbia University and London Business School.

Retired U.S. Navy Admiral James Foggo is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board and the Dean for the Center for Maritime Strategy at the Navy League of the U.S. He served as commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples. 

Prior to that, James served as the director of Navy Staff and the commander of the U.S. Sixth Fleet. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the American Academy of Diplomacy and New York’s The Explorers Club.

Tom Glocer is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and the former CEO of Thomson Reuters. He joined Thomson Reuters in 1993, where he held numerous senior leadership positions, including president of Latin America and president of America. Prior to that, Tom was a merger and acquisitions lawyer for U.S. law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. 

Tom is co-founder and executive chairman of cyber defense company Bluevoyant, and director of the Atlantic Council, Merck & Co., Morgan Stanley, and Publicis Groupe. He is also a member and former director of the Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs.

Elizabeth Hackenson is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Schneider Electric, responsible for global and local digital solutions, infrastructure, the company’s network security and the experience of 150,000+ employees.

Her more than 30 years of experience leading technology operations and transformation initiatives across large-scale organizations includes chief information officer roles at companies like AES, Alcatel-Lucent and MCI.

Retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General VeraLinn “Dash” Jamieson is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board. She served 37 years in the U.S. Air Force, most recently as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Cyber Effects Operations. Dash is combat experienced and led units in Korea, Germany, Hawaii, Miami, Afghanistan and Virginia. She is a recognized expert in the Intelligence Community and on data management, cybersecurity, cloud technology, AI and machine learning.

She sits on the board of directors at Digital Realty and Rolls Royce North America.

Dave Komendat is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Market Advisory Board and the former Chief Security Officer of The Boeing Company, where he was responsible for all components of Boeing’s global security including site security, supply chain and aviation security, and strategic intelligence. 

He was also the lead Boeing interface for national and international security policy engagement with various government and industry advisory groups, and was president of the International Security Management Association, former private sector co-chair of The Domestic Security Alliance Council and chair of the Department of Homeland Security’s Critical Manufacturing Sector.

Michael Morgan is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Phillips 66. Previously, he served 22 years as a special agent at the FBI. While there, Michael served as a subject matter expert for private and public sectors in cybersecurity, intellectual property, data privacy, trade secret protection and insider threats—and was responsible for fostering relationships with C-suite and senior officials and cybersecurity and counterintelligence training. 

Michael has a BS in finance from Illinois State University, an MSJ from Seton Hall University School of Law and completed the CISO executive program at Carnegie Mellon University.

Retired U.S. Marine Lieutenant General Joseph “Jody” L. Osterman is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board. He last served as the commanding general of the Marine Expeditionary Force. Previously, Joseph was the deputy commander of U.S. Special Operations Command and the commander of Marine Special Operations Command. He served in multiple combat leadership assignments in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He currently advises leaders during national security exercises at the operational/strategic level and in the application of technology. He also teaches operational planning and leadership at military service institutions.

M.K. Palmore currently serves as Director, Office of the CISO, for Google Cloud. His responsibilities include support of strategic customers engaged in a digital transformation journey. Prior to joining Google Cloud, M.K. served as the Field Chief Security Officer (Americas) for Palo Alto Networks. M.K. spent an extensive career in the U.S. Federal Government prior to entering the private sector. In a 22-year career in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), M.K. provided leadership and conducted investigations in a number of areas including Cybersecurity, Crisis Response/Management, Risk Management Advisory, and Counter-Terrorism. M.K.’s cybersecurity certifications include the CISM, CISSP, GCCC and the Carnegie Mellon University CISO Certification. He earned a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from Pepperdine University. M.K. began his professional career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Jim Rosenthal is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and co-founder and CEO of BlueVoyant. He was the chief operating officer of Morgan Stanley until 2017, where he was accountable to the CEO and the board of directors for cybersecurity. 

Jim is the recipient of the 2017 Critical Infrastructure Protection Award from the Financial Services Information Sharing and AnalysisCenter and co-chairman of Sheltered Harbor, a consortium of major banks, securities firms, industry associations and technology service providers with the mission of preserving systemic confidence in the event of a cyber attack.

Tim Roemer is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and Chief Security Officer at Global Market Innovators. 

Before that, he was appointed by Governor Doug Ducey as the Director of the Arizona Department of Homeland Security and CISO for the state of Arizona. He was the only person in the U.S. to serve in this type of dual role and also advised the governor on a wide range of security issues including counterterrorism, cybersecurity and border security. 

Prior to working for the state of Arizona, Tim served in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for 10 years. His last two years were spent in the White House Situation Room, providing critical national security updates to the president, vice president, and National Security Council.

Guy is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and the former Chief Digital Officer & President of Digital Businesses at Endeavor, a talent and entertainment conglomerate. In that role, he oversaw global efforts across product management, engineering, data platforms, digital marketing, as well as the company’s digital businesses. 

Prior to Endeavor, Guy served in leadership roles at Ebay and  PayPal. He is the  inventor of three issued patents in the areas of e-commerce and mobile payments, and served as a board member for leading cybersecurity firm Bluevoyant and iconic fashion retailer Timbuk2.

Katrin Suder is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board and the former Chairwoman of the Digital Council of the German Federal Government under Angela Merkel. From 2014 to 2018, Suder was the Permanent State Secretary for Planning, Armaments, IT & Cyber at the German Federal Ministry of Defence. 

Prior to that, she worked for McKinsey & Company with a focus on telecommunications, IT and public sector. She received her doctorate in theoretical physics in 2000.

Teri Takai is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board and the former Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the U.S. Department of Defense and the states of California Michigan. Prior to working in the government sector, she held positions at Ford Motor Company, responsible for strategic planning and global application development before moving to EDS. Teri served as CIO for Meridian Health Plan, and is currently Senior Vice President at the Center of Digital Government.

Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Stephen M. Twitty is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board. He assumed command of First U.S. Army in 2016 and became deputy commander of U.S. European Command in 2018. Previously, he was commanding general of Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division. Stephen served in five combat deployments, including tours in the Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait. 

He founded consulting firm Twitty and Associates and is a national security and military analyst for MSNBC.

Jesse is a member of Dataminr’s Corporate Advisory Board and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Amtrak, where he leads the management of cyber risk and information security matters. He is a cybersecurity, data privacy, safety and risk management executive with decades of public and private sector experience—and 20-plus years of experience in the security industry and military leadership.

Jesse held several leadership positions at the U.S. Department of Defense Cybersecurity Operations Center, was named the Pentagon’s 2017 Senior Civilian Employee of the Year and  is a graduate of the esteemed FBI CISO Academy.

Retired U.S. Air Force General Stephen W. “Seve” Wilson is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board. The 4-star general has over 39 years of military service. He served as the 39th vice chief of staff of the Air Force, where he managed the organizing, training and equipping of over 685,000 active duty, National Guard and Reserve Airmen.

He sits on the board of the U.S.-based subsidiary of BAE Systems and is an advisor to New Vista Capital.

Renee P. Wynn is a member of Dataminr’s Public Sector Advisory Board and the former Chief Information Officer (CIO) at NASA, where she led the effort to collaborate with complex NASA mission programs to improve NASA’s global cybersecurity posture and continuously transform IT management.

Previously, she served at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for over 25 years, during which she held a number of executive positions, including acting CIO and assistant administrator for the Office of Environmental Information.
